After looking over all the resources that were made available to us this week, I played around with editing videos and some of the other tips and tricks that Rich gave us! This had me thinking though, how are educators who didn’t receive lessons like this in their education, learning to edit videos for use in the classroom? The internet of course! Upon this realization, I wanted to find some video resources that would help teachers who have no knowledge of audio and video production, learn how to edit educational videos. Videos like this one are helpful for a thorough and step by step of how this educator edits each step of a video, but most of her tips are useful for mac users, as that is the software she is used to working with. This video focuses solely on how to utilize screen recording for videos that will be shared to students, a very useful tool that teachers should know how to use!

After finding some of these videos, I felt confident that they would help educators understand video editing better, but I then wondered, what are some resources available that would teach students about how they can do these things?

When searching for resources such as this, I found an awesome article that really helps break down video editing in a great way for teachers to use as a guideline on what to teach. This is a resource that I would recommend educators keep in their toolbox to look back on as it does a very good job of splitting up the tasks in which the author feels are essential lessons students learn, and describes what they should be introducing first to ease students into the different tools.
