Following our class this week, I wanted to continue to explore the abilities of AI and I decided to test that by incorporating it into my free inquiry project. Because I’m exploring baking, I thought it would be a fun idea to ask AI to provide me with a recipe that I could make this week and see how it goes! This was a really fun activity as it provided me with recipes that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise and provided me with ideas that were outside of my comfort zone.

As you can see, I used Gemini and asked if it could provide me with a beginner friendly recipe that wasn’t full of chocolate. It offered up three recipes.

This was the second recipe offered to me by AI and although I love blueberry muffins, I did not have fresh blueberries at home and I wanted to already have the ingredients for the recipe I would make.

Based on the reasons I mentioned above, I decided to make the lemon squares! I was impressed with AI for a couple reasons, but I also think that I made a fairly specific prompt to help get options that I was interested in. I was happy that the recipes weren’t chocolatey like I had asked, because sometimes I feel like certain aspects of prompts are ignored. I also think that AI did a fairly good job of providing beginner recipes as the recipe I followed, war fairly straight forward and simple.
