During class this week, while listening to all the presentations, I thought it would be interesting to mention one things from each presentation that really stuck out to me, so below is a list of all the presentations, a synopsis of what they said, and what I enjoyed about it.

Technology Integration: This presentation was super engaging due to its comedic nature and use of technology. I loved how it really highlighted their topic, engaging students through the use of technology, as that was exactly what their presentation did. I enjoyed that they each focused on a different aspect of how technology can be used in classrooms and gave an example of it!

AAC Devices: This group created a podcast presentation to discuss the use of AAC devices. I really enjoyed that it felt like a conversation between friends! My favourite part of their podcast was the discussion they had about receiving funding for AAC devices as I feel this is a conversation or topic that is maybe a little overshadowed by discussion of the actually technology itself.

Creating Engaging Presentations: This presentation gave a comprehensive guide and toolbox of resources that can help create engaging presentations for use in the classroom. They gave examples of when each resource could be the most helpful, and then provided a description of the resource so we understand its purpose better. It was interesting because a lot of the resources were ones I had used as a student, but they highlighted how it can also be used by teachers to engage their students. Slides with Friends and Baamboozle were interesting resources that I had never heard of that I will definitely check out in the future for personal use.

TeacherTok: This group created a podcast to discuss teachers on TikTok but they also showed a TikTok they created asking student teachers about their opinion on TeacherTok. I found the video really engaging because it was interesting to hear different opinions on the topic, as well as to see ourselves and peers in the videos. I thought it was fun to see how they could adapt different trends to fit the content to teachers.

Gamification: This presentation talked about different aspects of gamification through a game of jeopardy! I thought it was a super interesting way to present this topic, as the information was interwoven into the actual game. I was really engaged into the content because of the fun nature in which it was created and presented.

Video-Based Learning: This presentation was super informative! I liked that this group decided to split up the videos, one being focused on the benefits of video-based learning and the history, and the other showing an actual example of video-based learning. I think this would have been a really helpful resource for teachers to access when online classes were everyone’s reality, as it helped break down the idea super well.
